For more than three decades, the Medica Foundation has been a trusted force for community health, pairing strategic philanthropy with deep local partnerships to advance equity and improve lives across the region. The next Executive Director will lead the Foundation into its next chapter by shaping strategy, strengthening partnerships, and amplifying Medica’s impact across the communities it serves.


The ideal candidate is a strategic, relational leader who brings strong expertise in Minnesota’s philanthropic, nonprofit, and health care ecosystem as well as a demonstrated commitment to advancing health equity and Trust-Based Philanthropy principles.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in philanthropy, nonprofit, social responsibility or related fields.
  • Strategic leadership experience guiding an organization or portfolio through growth, change, or an inflection point.
  • Ability to shape and execute grantmaking strategy informed by data, community insight, and emerging issues.
  • Knowledge of philanthropy, including grantmaking, evaluation, and community engagement.
  • Experience working with boards on strategy and governance.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across sectors and communities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and community-led approaches.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Trust-Based Philanthropy, impact investing, and health sector experience helpful.
  • Experience working in both urban and rural markets in Minnesota helpful.
  • Familiarity or knowledge of corporate philanthropy helpful.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree helpful.


Salary: $165,000 - $220,000.
