PACER Center is a nationally recognized nonprofit founded in 1977 on the belief that “parents helping parents” changes lives. Based in Minneapolis, PACER supports children and young adults with disabilities and their families through practical guidance, training, and individualized support—while also advancing inclusion and bullying prevention through widely used resources and education.


The next Executive Director will lead PACER into its next chapter, providing strategic, operational, and cultural leadership across a 50-person organization with three core program areas. This role is accountable, in close partnership with the Board of Directors, for organizational performance, external relationships, and long-term sustainability.


The ideal candidate is a steady, relational leader who can honor PACER’s legacy while guiding continued growth and evolution with empathy and strong execution.


Qualifications

  • Deep commitment to PACER’s mission and to improving outcomes for children and young adults with disabilities and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational strategy, growth, and change in a complex, evolving environment.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with comfort serving as a public-facing spokesperson and relationship builder.
  • Experience partnering with a Board of Directors to support effective governance and mission-centered decision-making.
  • Financial acumen, including the ability to identify new revenue sources and strengthen long-term sustainability.
  • Fundraising and revenue development experience, with comfort working closely with development staff and engaging key funders.
  • Ability to lead and develop a high-performing team, supporting strong culture, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Commitment to building and leading diverse teams and creating an inclusive environment that reflects the communities PACER serves.


Compensation: $200,000 – $215,000. More details in the full position profile.
