Bridging operates a uniquely effective and deeply human service model that transforms the experience of moving into stable housing. As one of the largest furniture banks in the nation, Bridging partners with more than 250 referring agencies and 2,400 caseworkers to connect families and individuals who often have annual incomes below $20,000 to quality furniture and household goods that turn empty spaces into livable homes.


The next Executive Director will lead Bridging through its next chapter, providing strategic, operational, and cultural leadership across a complex, warehouse-based service model supported by staff, volunteers, partners, and donors. This role is accountable for organizational performance, external relationships, and sustaining a values-aligned culture while working closely with the board to ensure long-term stability and adaptability.


The ideal candidate is a relational, steady leader who can honor Bridging’s legacy while guiding the organization through operational refinement and thoughtful growth.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of strategic and transformational leadership experience with responsibility for staff, budgets, partnerships, and organizational outcomes.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to connect authentically with staff at all levels, volunteers, agency partners, and board members.
  • Ability to serve as an effective external ambassador with skill in public speaking, storytelling, and community engagement.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing budgets, understanding revenue models, and making data-informed decisions that support organizational sustainability.
  • Demonstrated success cultivating donor, corporate, and community partnerships, including stewardship of major funders.
  • Proven ability to lead and strengthen complex, facility-based service delivery operations, including warehouse, logistics, or distribution environments across one or more sites.
  • Experience assessing organizational systems, identifying operational or structural opportunities, and implementing improvements in collaboration with internal leaders.


Compensation: $190,000 - $210,000. More details in the full position profile.
